FAQ
Can you make a ring out of flatware I have at home?
Absolutely! I love creating custom rings from flatware that hold real meaning for you. This is a great option to make an heirloom piece to carry your 3x-Great-Aunt-Once-Removed memory around with you. I have a ring that I made myself from a baby spoon used by both of my daughters that I love to wear! I charge a flat rate of $20 per ring plus the shipping each way. Email me at RelicRevivalNH@gmail.com to make a plan!
Where do you get all of your flatware?
Short answer: everywhere and anywhere! I spend a ton of time searching through thrift stores, antique shops, yard sales, estate sales, and the internet for unique vintage flatware.
I have a box of old flatware in my attic that I have no idea what to do with. Do you take old spoons and forks?
I am asked this constantly, and the answer is a resounding YES! Usually, I take donations or I will pay "thrift store prices" for these things. I am happy to do local pickups or cover shipping costs. To be totally transparent: I am more than happy to take them off your hands to help clear some clutter, but if you are looking to make a fortune off of your great-great-grandmother's silver, you may want to look elsewhere. If this interests you, email me (Mikala) directly at RelicRevivalNH@gmail.com
Is all of your jewelry made from Sterling?
In this market? No. The majority of what I work with is silver-plated or stainless steel with some other metals here and there. I definitely have sterling as well, but the cost of sterling spoons right now can make an extremely expensive ring for you. If I can find it for the right price, I will buy it and make something out of it.
Will your silver-plated rings turn my finger green?
Nope! The base metals for silver-plated flatware are different than traditional silver-plated jewelry. As far as earrings go, I use a few different materials for my findings (hooks, jump rings, etc.). I mark the back of the cards that your jewelry is displayed on, so people with metal sensitivities can know what each piece is made from.
